Suggah Shack Urban Farm Authority (SSUFA)
The backbone for urban food systems in our city.
The Suggah Shack Urban Farm Authority (SSUFA) is a centralized entity designed to plan, manage, and protect long-term urban agriculture efforts. SSUFA exists to turn underutilized land into productive green infrastructure that supports food access, workforce development, and community resilience — without placing long-term burden on the city.
SSUFA functions as the operator, steward, and accountability layer for all urban agriculture programs under its umbrella.
Think: structure, longevity, and receipts.

Tailored Programs to Build Legacy

Permanent food assets, planted once — feeding for decades.
The Urban Orchards Initiative converts public and partner-owned land into perennial, low-maintenance food orchards that provide long-term yield with minimal annual input. Unlike traditional gardens, orchards are infrastructure, not seasonal projects.
These spaces:
-
Produce food year after year
-
Require decreasing maintenance over time
-
Create shade, cooling, and ecological benefits
-
Serve as community-access food sources and educational sites
Once established, orchards become self-reinforcing assets, not recurring budget line items.
-

From liability to local asset.
The Adjudicated Properties Activation Program transforms tax-delinquent or abandoned parcels into managed agricultural and green-use sites. SSUFA assumes operational responsibility, reducing city maintenance costs while improving safety, visibility, and land value.
This program:
-
Stabilizes neglected properties
-
Prevents illegal dumping and blight
-
Activates land without permanent transfer
-
Creates a reversible, low-risk use model
The city retains ownership.
The community gains function.
The land stops being dead weight.-
